Aim & Scope

The Thematic Seminar on "Singularities, Computing and Visualization" is taking place in Segovia within the dates March 26-27th (2007).
Participants are expected to arrive to Segovia in the afternoon of Sunday 25th, and the Seminar will end around 18:00 in Tuesday 27th.
Further details will be provided on this web page from now on.

This Seminar is thought as the first one for a series of Workshops devoted to computational and applied topics related to Algebraic Geometry.
The aim is to learn and discuss in depth about concrete topics which are of primary interest for mathematics community in Spain.

Formally, the Seminar will be a 2 days Workshop devoted to the following topics in Computational Singularities:
  • Algorithms, mainly resolution of singularities and zeta functions.
  • Computer software in Singularity Theory.
  • Visualization of Singularities.
Speakers include:
M. Alberich (Univ. Politecnica de Catalunya)
W. Bruns (Univ. Osnabrück)
S. Encinas (Univ. Valladolid)

A. Frühbis-Krüger (TU Kaiserslautern)
S. Gann (Univ. Innsbruck)
H. Hauser (Univ. Innsbruck)
I. Luengo (Univ. Complutense de Madrid)
J. Schicho (RICAM, Linz)
O. Wienand (TU Kaiserslautern)
Participants are expected to be specialists on Computer Algebraic Geometry, as well as young researchers in Computing, Singularities and Algebraic Geometry.

Notice that this Seminar is consecutive to YMIS’07, the third edition of the School YMIS, taking place in March from 19th to 23rd at Sedano (Burgos), and which is this time devoted to "Algebra and Topology of Singularities".
